When plugins and WordPress collide: oh, the horror!
Apologies for my online absence over the past several days: I’ve effectively been locked out, unable to access the admin tools to write anything. Every single time I’ve upgraded my installation of WordPress over the past six months I’ve found myself having to deal with one or more plugins apparently, in the first instance, causing problems. The keen-eyed among you who have a tendency to scroll down the front page, at least from time to time, will notice there’s a new widget in the right-hand sidebar, courtesy of The CO2Stats Project. The widget is free, and will monitor CO2 (carbon dioxide) emissions by calculating how much power site visitors consume whenever they drop by.
The CO2Stats Project will then purchase carbon offsets to benefit the environment for every pound of CO2 resulting from site traffic. It might take a while to even reach a pound of CO2 because The Spicy Cauldron is only on rare occasions a high-traffic website but, again, as always, every little helps.
