Apple Airport Express is anything but
My beloved intends to buy me gardening gear next Christmas after the farcical situation of not one, not two, but three defective HD-DVD players in a row, resulting in a small collection of HD-DVD discs and the need now to save up for a hybrid player if we ever want to watch them again. But the hardware horror resulting from technology gift-giving didn’t stop there, oh no: yesterday it took me over two hours to set up the Apple Airport Express he bought for me.

The Toshiba HD-DVD player bought for me as a Christmas present by my beloved had to be returned to the store twice, two units having exactly the same fault in being unable to display a picture via the HDMI port. The first worked just once, the second never worked at all. Thankfully the third unit is working. Is HD-DVD (or, for that matter, Blu-Ray) ready for the mainstream? No. Neither system is exactly intuitive or easy to configure, or quick to load discs.
