Still no fix for the Apple TV 2.3 no sound problem

One for the technically-minded readers, this. It bugs the hell out of me that Apple’s made no response at all so far, and it’s had quite a while, to reports including my own that the Apple TV software update 2.3 killed all sound from the device with, in my case, the sole and mysterious exception of TV shows purchased from the iTunes Store. Funny that. Well, when I say it’s made no response I’m not counting the industrious scrutiny of moderators on the user forums, who have been very busy deleting discussion threads and individual posts on the subject.
