Poem: Great Britain 2008
squeeze me
watch me
control my every move
monitor me closely
punish me
make me bleed
treat me like a terrorist
preach to me
persuade me of my sins
turn on the cameras
tell me what’s right
but being poor I have no rights
track me
sack me
modify me
force me not to smoke
or drink
use laws instead to make me choke
Poem: Music Pirate
Where is the get out of jail free card
for the poor kid trapped on the wire,
caught downloading music illegally?
He has no right to listen to Madonna.
He has no right to listen to Coldplay.
He has no right to listen, or to sing.
He can hang, or kill, and be put away.
