Government hypes up failing, poorly-funded and limited-access green grant scheme
The number of government grants made to people who want to fit solar panels or other green energy systems to their homes has halved after the low carbon buildings programme cut the maximum grant on offer from £7,500 to £2,500.
In 2007, 2,339 grants were made nationwide compared with 5,104 the previous year. Britain is the third worst performer in the EU for producing energy from renewable sources—just two per cent of the UK’s energy is produced in this way—and the share has been ordered to increase to 15% by 2020.

It’s Monday morning, it’s unexpectedly snowing rather heavily, we’ve just had two large tom-cats unknown to us declaring war on each other at the bottom of the garden, the chickens ’shouted’ at me because I let them out and then fed them (instead of what I usually do, which is put down the food and water and then let them out). At time of writing this it’s only 8.35am. Welcome to my world!

I must admit, I’ve come to hate this government and everything it stands for. The latest insane scheme to make life even more miserable for people is reported on here. I deeply regret voting them in under Blair back in 1997. I will not make that mistake ever again, in common, I suspect, with many people. But I won’t vote for the Tories either, who would likely be even worse.
