Today’s Guardian reports that at least 11 Conservative parliamentary candidates have undergone training provided by an extremist right-wing group, the leadership of which has described the NHS as “the biggest waste of money”, described global warming as “a scam” and justified the waterboarding of prisoners.

In all my wildest imaginings I could not have hoped for stories like these to ever present themselves, let alone for them to appear on the same day. A murderous tyrant endorses the Tories? Male prostitutes procured, some of them said to be priests-in-training and choristers, at the heart of the virulently anti-gay Roman Catholic Church?
