Mandrake’s remarkable progress in fight against FIV

I’ve become a believer in the power of so-called alternative medicines. They may be scientifically unproven, but they can and do work. We had nothing to lose with our FIV positive cat, Mandrake. The vet wanted to euthanise him, saying not to expect him to recover at all, and refused to provide any further help at all when we firmly said no to killing him. She only wanted to hear from us again when we saw that she was right, and took him to her on a final journey. But Mandrake is getting better, making a welcome mockery of the vet’s professional opinion.

Into the woods, and an invitation to a distance healing experiment

Ever woken up one day with the urge to do something spontaneous and different to what you’d usually do on that day? I was planning to go into the garden this morning and plant out our overwintering onions and garlic, and maybe dig up the turf next to the hens’ run, to plant some tulips in there. But no. I did enough over the past couple of days. I’ve had a sense since waking that I should go for a walk in our local woods.
