You took our nuts, we’ll take yours, while the vet takes all your money…
Less than 24 hours after Billy and Jasper went to the vets to be neutered, before I got out of bed today I was assaulted around the head by Billy, batting me with his paws, who decided he would show how much he loves me by shoving his arse in my face. Lovely. We got up to find the 24-inch iMac screen at a funny angle—no mean feat for two small kittens, so it most likely was a collaborative crime—and my iPod Touch on the living room floor. There were numerous items from the kitchen bin scattered in an attempt to create feline floor art, and, most surprisingly, an entire Tracker bar had been consumed—every last crumb, including a very small amount of the foil packaging.
So, the kittens are on a sugar high to end all sugar highs as I write this. They’re absolutely mental, running round the house at high speed and causing Mandrake in particular to howl his discontent. I think they make him feel dizzy.

I’m still in shock after yesterday’s horrible turn of events. I only hope when the tidal wave of feeling hits I’m not standing in the middle of a supermarket at the time. But for now, the feeling isn’t an emotion: it’s more an absence of feeling altogether.
