Rampant hypocrisy over celebrity shockers
I’ve never been a fan of Russell Brand but I do like Jonathan Ross, though likes or dislikes don’t really come into the current furore over how the two of them treated actor Andrew Sachs and his grand-daughter. Simply put, they went too far—but these and other celebrities are encouraged in their whacky, disrespectful behaviour by the public and the media.
Tune in for more naughty fun, blah blah blah. Oh, did you see xyz last night? Outrageous!
We encourage our celebrities to be infantile, because it entertains us (well, some of us) to watch and listen to people making complete tits of themselves, acting irresponsibly, and pulling outrageous stunts that sometimes cause offence and hurt.

Mac users in the UK bored of waiting for BBC iPlayer to offer downloads for us same as for those running Windoze, there’s an alternative to having to stream all things Beeb you want to watch. The probably illegal iPlayer Downloader 2.2 is available here, but runs on OS X 10.5 or above only. It seems only fair to resort to unauthorised software when we Apple fans pay the same BBC licence fee as people who support Microsoft bloatware, yet are denied the same viewing options as them. We were promised full Mac compatibility, but where is it? Hmm?
