End in sight for thuggish TV licence fee demands?
The BBC is to ask viewers and listeners for their opinions on how the licence fee is collected following complaints about “heavy-handed” tactics. Heavy handed? Fucking outrageous bullying and intimidation, more like. Absolutely over the top. We know where you live… It’s all in the database… It’s like a bunch of thugs threatening to trash your home, beat you up, and send you to Guantanamo Bay… There you go, BBC. That’s one viewer and listener opinion for you. And before you send in the heavies, we have a TV licence in our home. We also resent having to pay for most of the crap you broadcast, the lifestyle magazine rubbish you pass off as news these days, and the sport coverage which we’ve no interest in supporting whatsoever.

Just when many of us are despairing at our inability to change the ways in which big businesses conduct themselves, along comes the answer: never mind harping on about CO2 emissions, unnecessary packaging, and social responsibility—just grab yourself a modest 202 queer-hating people secretly working together in an unholy alliance, and you’ve got yourself enough people to make a difference, albeit a very negative one.
