Welcome

Here you will find poetry, opinion and prose mixed together in roughly equal measure. Add one man available from specialist suppliers only. Stick everything into a blender for five minutes. Stir gently with a wooden spoon, then pour slowly into tall glasses with crushed ice.

No cherries. No little parasols. No curly straws. Let the drink speak for itself.

Last night I was using an app on my iPhone called Star Walk that deploys ‘augmented reality‘ to display the night sky directly in front of wherever you’re pointing the handset. It enables you to easily identify stars, galaxies, planets and constellations. I then started browsing for information on a particularly bright star I’ve been strangely interested in for ages. Vindemiatrix is the name of this giant yellow star, I quickly discovered, or Epsilon Virgo. I’m not an astronomer or an astrologer although I’m interested in both subjects to some degree.
