Apple insults UK gay and lesbian community with homophobic film giveaway

Dec 31 2009

Apple has today insulted the UK’s entire gay and lesbian community by giving away homophobic cinema flop of the year, Lesbian Vampire Killers, as part of its ‘12 Days of Christmas’ iTunes promotion. The film was universally panned upon release, not only for being anti-gay but for being badly scripted with piss-poor acting. It was an appallingly stupid decision on the part of Apple to do this.

This is more than crap. It’s an idea that should have been dropped as soon as it was thought of. Giving away extremely offensive rubbish works against the marketing aim of getting more people to use iTunes to buy stuff.

It’s not a stretch for anyone to wonder, what other stinkers await paid-for discovery in the iTunes Store?
