I used my new iPhone 3GS this morning to capture some of our chickens’ antics in the snow. It’s the first time I’ve used the video recording functions (my previous 3G handset only did photos) and I was very impressed with how easy it was to shoot, edit and upload to YouTube. You can also upload to a MobileMe account or send your videos via email.
I don’t know what’s more amusing in these videos—the chickens or the way I talk to them!
The grown-up ladies have a good whinge about the weather:
Eventually they venture out… Well. Some of them do…
Mulder the Copper Blue Marans cockerel, reluctant to set foot outside:
Mulder and Scully get stuck into breakfast but the other youngsters aren’t sure about this whole snow thing:
Although all these videos are short—just a few minutes each—there doesn’t appear to be any limitation on how long you can record a single video on the iPhone 3GS. I got the 32Gb model (in white because that was all the O2 store had in stock and I was sick of carrying around my busted previous model) because now, as well as a phone and a video player and a music player and countless other applications and games, I have a pretty decent video camera in my pocket as well. I wanted plenty of space should I ever decide I want to record something longer than your average video snippet, because video does require some disk space. That, and I won’t be able to upgrade again for another two years so I wanted as much room on the handset as I could get.
People who don’t get the iPhone… They just haven’t got an iPhone.
