The Sound of Music, because it is the perfect feel-good film. The sweet, individual and totally unique scent of my beloved snuggled next to me first thing in the morning. Alice in Wonderland, Disney film and original story by Lewis Carroll, because the Mad Hatter is a role model of mine—and I await the Tim Burton film with great excitement. Chickens. Cats. Rhubarb. The Green Party. Doctor Who. The full moon on a cold autumn night. The mist of early morning hiding the hills behind our house. Being kind. My imagination. True Blood (after a shaky start). Generosity of spirit. Dreams.

My iPhone. My iMac. My MacBook Pro. Sylvia Plath. Robert Lowell. Anne Sexton. Dinosaurs. Celtic mythology. Making new friends. Appreciating established friends. My parents. Pacifism. Non-violent direct action. Bare trees in winter. Stag beetles. Eccentricity. Non-conformity. Ghosts. The goddess Bast. Cross Bones Graveyard in London. The theatre. Second-hand bargains. Listening to tall tales told with wit and charm. Sexy underwear. Freshly-mown grass. Collecting eggs just outside the back door. White paint. Beautiful skin. The goddess Rhiannon. The god Thoth. Doing whatever I’m told not to. Thinking dangerous thoughts. Being subversive. Praying. Laughing in the face of prejudice. Being gay. Confounding stereotypes. Playing up to stereotypes. Cold spring water. Ducks. Having the opportunity to show some wisdom once in a while. Being the fool on the hill. Learning.
