The nightmare of an Apple fanboy
I admit it at last. For all my willingness to acknowledge the company’s failings, I am an Apple fanboy at heart. I had a nightmare that involved my iPhone screen getting a nasty crack in it. In the dreamscape, I lifted the cracked screen and wires came tumbling out. I didn’t know what to do, and said to someone unknown in the dream that, if the iPhone goes off for repairs, it will be weeks or months before I get it back given the shortage of units and, therefore, parts.
Then I wake up. My iPhone is ringing. It’s okay but my parents aren’t—they’ve got a wasp invasion, my mum tells me, though I suspect it’s bees, not wasps. We’ll see. Pest control has been called.
My ringtone? Strange Things Are Happening Every Day originally by Sister Rosetta Tharpe, I think, and yes, that is the correct spelling of her surname, I believe. But the version on my iPhone is by Fern Jones, and appears onĀ Weeds: Music from the Original Series, Vol. 2.
It’s been the signature theme song to my life since I first heard it about three weeks ago. And here it is:

Oh yeah. Needless to say, my iPhone is perfectly safe, completely intact, and wrapped up snug in its protective silicon case with screen protector film.
