Happy Birthday David
Today is my beloved’s 29th birthday, and the start of his week-long holiday, his first reasonable length absence from that damnable job. He works too hard and is worked too hard, and his boss even called this morning because no doubt the sky has already fallen in, all the computers’ hard drives have turned to syrup, and somebody’s having a baby in the broom cupboard, and it’s a problematic breach birth. Possibly twins.
What his employer doesn’t know is that David is under strict orders not to answer his work mobile all week, understanding that if he does, I will take said mobile and bury it somewhere within our town boundaries or maybe even beyond. And I mean it: time off from work is very important, and my beloved really needs this week to get some rest, and to put together his beehive.
Yes, he got a beehive from my parents and his—they conspired together—and the bees came from our friends the ever-fabulous AmethystDragon and her family, along with hive tools. He got lots of incense and foodie things from Beautifu1, and many other great bits and pieces as well, including a beekeeping suit from yours truly. The new bees are now happily buzzing away bringing pollen in from all over the place, and seem very nosey when we’re out in the garden. They’re in a nucleus—kind of a bee caravan—until next weekend, when they can be moved into the hive.
So David’s had a great time so far and I’m keeping this short as I intend to make sure he has at least as great a birthday, and week ahead. I’m very proud of my man. He’s intelligent and gorgeous and caring, three things that make me constantly aware of just how lucky I am. And there are many more reasons for feeling blessed by having this guy in my life, but the list is simply way too long to post here. Indeed, I don’t know if I would ever reach the end of such a list and so if I tried to compile it, you’d probably find me slumped over a keyboard 10,000 years from now, either long since departed or still typing away…
I love you, David. For being who you are. You’re fabulous times eternity to a factor of gorgeous multiplied by sexy recurring. Roll on our 10th anniversary later this month, eh? Wow.

Please wish David so many happy birthdays/good thoughts/big hugs/sloppy kisses from me. I can’t believe you are nearly at 10 years! I am also not jealous at all that David is not in his thirties yet… XXXXXX to you both.

Beautifu1 ยป The bees move into their permanent home today! And they’ve been very busy this week, the temporary nucleus accommodation is nearly filled with brood, meaning the population is growing and so they’ve obviously found some great food sources in the area. x
