Howard dedicated this very funny comic strip to me and so I thought, as a return kindness and compliment, I’d write another plug for the comic strip mailing list he maintains for free (all he asks in return is fame and glory, power and money—and failing all that stuff, cross-blog promotions are always nice as well). Actually, I want you to do something else… I want you all to go read this story on the good man’s blog. Why? Because if you have a blue day or a bad day or just a few hours of feeling like crap once in a while, it will go some way to restoring your faith in all the things that really matter. Like friendship. Community. Love. You know, all the stuff money can’t buy.

And then you can, if so inclined—and why the heck wouldn’t you be?–donate anything you can afford (follow the link and look for the donate button, can’t miss it) to help this great guy pay his medical bills, because the land of the free is only the land of the healthy if folks can afford to pay for treatment when they get ill, in Howard’s case to fight the big C (no, not constipation or the clap, sillies… cancer!). So please, he need to focus on getting better, not on worrying about huge bills—so anything you can give in whatever currency would be, I am sure, very welcome indeed.
