Theme crashes resolved (hopefully)

The site theme hasn’t crashed out to be replaced by the default for over a week now. The problem seems to have been not the theme itself but a clash of plugins. I don’t know the actual cause; I just removed several plugins that were less than necessary, and that did the trick. Apparently.
