Taking time off from blogging
In my last post about the MacBook Pro I dropped the small shocker (well, I suspect some of you will be shocked) that I will be taking a month off from blogging—at least, maybe longer—to knuckle down and get my novel finished. My time away begins on Monday.
Unless some life-shattering event happens in the next four weeks, goddess forbid, you won’t be reading any new entries on the Cauldron in that time. There’s always the archive to trawl through, though, if you fancy joining Beautifu1 in her endearing and much-cherished habit of digging up the ghosts of essays past. Comments on old posts are as welcome as on newer ones.
I daren’t leave the blog completely unattended in case spammers or worse find a way through, so I will be checking the site on occasion and responding to any comments people leave, albeit not necessarily in my usual timely fashion. If you do leave comments I ask for your patience—I will get back to you, eventually.
If you feel a need to contact me during my time away, I am still going to be reading and responding to emails, so please use the contact form.
Alternatively you can email me from inside your preferred email client at spicyenquiries, which is at spicycauldron, which is of course, dot com. I write it like that for reasons that should be obvious to all who have ever suffered major league crap descending on their inboxes.
Messages sent via the contact form go to that address as well.
I will still be avidly reading, and occasionally commenting on, other people’s blogs. You don’t get rid of me that easily; in fact I’m looking forward to being able to put a little more time into that, as there are a great many blogs I enjoy reading (partly because I like the people who maintain them) and it will be very nice to spend more time trawling through my blogroll for anything I’ve missed along the way.
If I’m going to be away any longer than four weeks I will post an entry by way of update. Oh, and I’ve decided under the circumstances to delay this year’s Spicy Cauldron Awards until September or October. Rest assured, though, they will be taking place when I’m back behind the wheel.
So yeah, this isn’t quite goodbye. And come Monday it will only be a goodbye for now…
