Do more with iTunes
I discovered two great websites yesterday that give you the means to automate all kinds of processes in iTunes on Windows PCs and Macs.
The Windows iTunes scripts can be found here.
The Mac iTunes scripts can be found here.
As my music collection is pushing ever closer to 300Gb in size I thought it might be time to see what’s in my library. I could always search for stuff but there’s plenty I’ve forgotten about completely or need reminding of, so I’ve been running an albums playlist script for the last twelve hours—yes, twelve!–that creates playlists for every album it finds in your library. For all I know it may take two days or longer for the task to complete with such a massive library but so far it’s definitely working.
If your collection is more modest (read: if you’re not a music, plays and audiobooks glutton like me) it obviously won’t take as long. While it won’t do any harm, use this particular script at your own risk—in my case I’m going to end up with in excess of 30,000 playlists. And yes, I’m going to be looking at clearing out some stuff afterwards…
