It all started in 1998…

June 27th, to be exact. That was the day my beloved D and I met in the G.A.Y. nightclub at the London Astoria and fell in love at first sight.

We couldn’t celebrate our ninth anniversary on the actual day this year because his work took him off to London, but we intend to party a little (okay, maybe a lot) when he gets home tonight.

I was 31 years old and D was a 19-year old sapling. I always tell people who cry ‘dirty old man’ when they hear the story that the truth was he set his sights on me . I was dancing on a table—yes, you read right—and he was smiling. I thought to myself, that guy has a really nice smile.

Some time later this cheeky chappie was still smiling and I realised he was smiling at me. I smiled back and he leaped over two balconies to reach me. Yes, leaped. He started dancing with me and I noticed his deep brown eyes and long black lashes.

Within minutes we kissed for the first time. I remember stars, explosions and electric tingles in places I won’t ever blog about.
