Poem: Questions
How long have I waited?
How long shall I wait?
How long will my heart ache?
Why, oh Goddess, tell me why?
Why do men fail and why do men try?
Why do they fall in battle?
How much do we value land above life?
How much do we crave riches and glory?
How many hearts have been broken?
Will you give me the answers?
Will they lead to more questions?
Will I ever find a heart like my own?
And when I do, will I be happy?
And when I do, will I be safe?
And when I do, will I know it?
If I do, what then?
Poem: The shoulder
the drag
of him, incumbent
upon me
the knowing
the dis-ease
the false levity
the salted tear mask
my consumptive
passion my
foolish pride
my scars
always my scars
always my hidden scars
blood knows and
blood will tell
always does
always will
